Ozean’s genesis is in media buying

When Ozean Media opened its doors, it was strictly a media buying agency.  It is what our founder, Alex Patton, personally does best. He is a numbers geek – he loves Reach, Frequency, Cost Per Point (CPP), and Cost per Thousand (CPM) computations.  The guy revels in Ratings, GRPs, and shares.  Finally, he honestly likes to explain the differences between Households using Television (HUTs) and People using Television (PUTs).  (TRUST US – don’t ask him about any of these media terms or media math unless you have 30 minutes to devote to “lecture with Alex” time.)

The point is the founder & Ozean Media lives for this stuff.  The founder started his career with a major Florida cable system as the sales manager on the local, regional and national levels before striking out on his own.  At first, Alex relied on his skills to perform the media planning and buying functions for mostly political campaigns across Florida and the south east. He is known for his political media buying skills which focus like a laser – targeting the message to the correct demographics then matching the right media mix to maximize the media dollars.   Those same skills assisted him with planning and buying for corporations and even advertising agencies.  (That is right – other advertising agencies hire Ozean to plan and implement media buys for their clients.  In the most humble terms, we are that good.)

Several years ago, Alex Patton recognized the shift from traditional media to interactive and web based media.  He took the opportunity bring his analytical media planning and buying skills and applied them to planning and buying digital and Internet media.
